Introduction:
AirPods Max 2: Apple is reportedly planning to revamp its AirPods lineup, with new versions of the Apple AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 3 expected to launch in the next two years. However, it seems that the Apple AirPods Max 2 won’t undergo major changes. According to Mark Gurman, an analyst at Bloomberg, Apple is preparing to unveil the Apple AirPods Max 2 in late 2024. The Apple AirPods 4 is also set for a late 2024 release, though it’s unclear whether these products will be announced together or on separate occasions.
AirPods Max 2: Significant Changes
The Apple AirPods Max 2 is not expected to see significant alterations but may come with a USB Type-C port and introduce new color options. This indicates Apple’s ongoing commitment to the product, even though it received its last update in 2020.
The Apple AirPods Max 2 may continue to use Apple’s older H1 chip, which was introduced in 2019, while the more advanced H2 chipset was used in the Apple AirPods Pro 2 in September 2022, offering features like adaptive transparency mode, improved active noise cancellation, and extended battery life. The transition to a USB Type-C port in the Apple AirPods Max 2 aligns with Apple’s move away from its proprietary Lightning charging solution to USB Type-C, which began with the iPhone 15 series in September of the current year.
